FATHERING GRACE

Fathers in the context of apostolic grace anchor you to character and destiny. They are not tormentors but Mentors graced to bring you into Heaven’s design and purpose. The following are some of the benefits:

  1. They help to identify, cultivate and unlock hidden potentials, gifting and graces unaware to you.
  2. They seek to bring you in alignment with God’s heart, navigating the right path to birth you.
  3. The inheritance from spiritual fathers gives sons a solid foundation to build and advance their callings and ministry, the legacy of fathers becomes a strong launching pad for spiritual sons.

In Acts 16:3, Paul circumcised Timothy as he was about to take him on a journey. Notice that Paul did not cut Timothy to make him acceptable to God but to make him acceptable for his assignment. Sons must therefore give fathers permission to cut them. The extent you let your spiritual father cut (discipline) you will determine the quality of your ministry.  I have often told my spiritual sons that, “what you know is not necessarily wrong, it is simply incomplete, you are sent to walk with me to usher you forth to the next place in the purposes of God for your life”.

Spiritual Adolescence

It is not unusual to see an amateurish display from sons, these manifestations tend to obstruct the fullest impartation and unveiling of Christ’s nature in them. Fathers will identify these traits and by strategic teaching and modeling cut away these excesses. If your father doesn’t carry a knife get him one! Fathers speak into your issues and give the most needed clarity for quality living.

Most people get offended when they are being cut by fathers, they are not able to stand the “knife” of rebuke and correction, they abandon their post under pressure and run to another leader. This is the reason we have a generation of fatherless sons in the body of Christ. Until you are fathered, you can’t go further!

Sadly, hypocrisy is to attain leadership haven’t been led by someone. You must be birth into ministry by a father.  Moses needed a Jethro, Paul needed Ananais to show him the way, Apollos needed Aquilla and Priscilla… the list is endless. Even Christ needed John the Baptist.

Let the shift begin today, if you do not have a spiritual father prayerfully seek the Lord for direction. As you prayerfully identify the area of your calling and assignment, you will be drawn to that leader who will model you for your calling and ministry. Your next season is waiting in the loins of your true spiritual father and he shall celebrate you. A true father never gets intimidated at the growth and successes of his son. He will be joyed to see his DNA replicated in his son and celebrate his successes.

Jesus is the pattern son, He is our ultimate example for sonship. He walked the dusty streets of Israel, following the leading of His Heavenly Father. Hebrews 1:3 tells us;…who being the effulgence of his glory, and the very image of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had made purification of sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; He was, He is and will always be the entire revelation of the Father …for in Him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily,Col. 2:9.

We are His body, the expression of Him in the earth. As He is so are we in this world.
